The aim of this joint scientific event is threefold: the 1st is to assess, share and review all information about the recent technological advances in the Biochemistry field and the Molecular Biology related to health, biotechnologies, environment and food biochemistry.

The 2nd objective is to offer opportunity for scientists all around the world to become a community and share all their research findings togheter, exploring the possibilities of mutual cooperation. The 3rd objective is to give support to the young researchers so that they can participate and exchange their knowledge in this scientific event. An education topic related to teaching and learning of Biochemistry and Biology is planned on the end of the next month. For more information please contact our support department. Thank you.

What is Chelation Therapy

Health

chelation

Chelation therapy is the method that is used to remove toxic heavy metals. The heavy metals that this is most commonly associated with are mercury, lead and arsenic. There are of course approved as well as alternative methods of chelation therapy. The ones that are approved involve the use of dimercaptosuccinic acid. This is the primary item that is used in the removal of these heavy metals from an individual’s bloodstream.

In essence it works as a filter to help remove these harmful toxins from the bloodstream of the person who is affected. There are of course other items that are in use as chelating agents as well. Each of these will have different results based on the metals that they are used to treat. It is not always a successful method for treating the toxins that are in one’s system; however it is a method that has met success in the past.

The alternative medicine methods are also believed to be useful, but are not approved by any organization as far as medicine is concerned. The item most widely believed to be effective as a chelating agent is cilantro. It is believed to aid with heart disease as well as the removal of lead, arsenic and mercury.

Health, Biochemistry & Iron Deficiency Anemia relationship

Health

anemia

One of the most common types of anemia, especially in women, is iron deficiency anemia, a condition in which your body does not have a healthy supply of red blood cells, used to carry oxygen throughout your body. People with iron deficiency syndrome often feel tired and look pale through this lack of sufficient oxygen circulation.
As the name itself tells you, this type of anemia is caused by insufficient iron in your body. Iron is an important element, as it is used to make hemoglobin, which is used within red blood cells to carry oxygen so that the cell can circulate oxygen throughout the entire body. Without sufficient hemoglobin your red blood cells cannot carry sufficient oxygen. This leads to effects such as fatigue, paleness, weakness, lightheadedness, headaches, menstrual problems and even cold hands or feet. It can even lead to experience with restless leg syndrome.
Iron deficiency anemia can be developed several different ways. Sometimes this lack of iron is caused by bleeding, but more often it is the result of a diet low in iron. In some cases, however, the problem is not that you the food you eat is low in iron, but that your body does not absorb all the iron from what food is consumed. When your body does not take iron from the foods you eat it is usually due to a small intestine problem and should be looked at by a doctor.
Iron deficiency anemia is not life threatening and easily treated by an iron supplement which can be bought without a prescription. Most cases of iron deficiency is caught during a routine check up and treated by these supplements, which must be taken continuously for a few months while the iron is built up inside your body. If it is due to a problem with your body, blood work is usually administered to look for intestinal diseases such as regional enteritis or celiac disease.

Neuropathy - Diseases of the Peripheral Nerves

Health

neuropathy2

Neuropathy is defined as any disease affecting the peripheral nervous system. More than twenty million Americans suffer from neuropathy. It is most commonly associated with diabetes, since sixty percent of those with high sugar counts are diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. The disease is also caused by malnutrition, trauma to the nerves, tumor growth, or infections.

The most common symptom associated with neuropathy is the loss of feeling in an area of the body. In diabetics, the first loss of sensation generally occurs in the feet. With other forms of neuropathy, symptoms can include an inability to maintain balance, painful tingling, and even loss of function in internal organs, such as the lungs or kidneys.

Peripheral neuropathy
can be detected through several tests, including an electrocardiogram, spinal tap, or nerve or muscle biopsies. Once diagnosed, the success of treatment of neuropathy depends entirely on its root cause. For those with diabetes, effective regulation of blood sugar can reduce the symptoms of the peripheral neuropathy. Physical therapy is often helpful to those with neuropathy caused by trauma. It’s important to get a diagnosis of neuropathy early, since the efficacy of treatment significantly reduces with the passing of time.

Home treatment for neuropathy includes careful monthly inspection of the feet for loss of feeling, wearing comfortable, well-fitted shoes, and taking painkillers like aspirin or ibuprofen for the pain. By planning with a doctor, peripheral neuropathy can be managed and possibly even cured.
